Rules for filing ITR: The last date for filing ITR i.e. income return with penalty for the financial year 2022-23 is 31 December 2023. If you do not do this before the stipulated limit, then action can also be taken against you. Not only this, a fine of Rs 5,000 can also be imposed on those who file ITR late. However, people whose total income is less than Rs 5 lakh will have to pay a fine of only Rs 1,000.

Rules regarding Aadhaar update: The last date to update Aadhaar online without any extra fee is 31 December 2023. If you are not able to update Aadhaar by this date, then from January 1, 2024, you will have to pay Rs 50 for any change in the document. Therefore, if you want some changes in your Aadhar card, then do it by 31st December.

Rules related to bank locker: According to the Reserve Bank of India, customers having lockers in banks now have the option to get the deposit by signing the amended bank locker agreement till 31st. According to the new rule, if they do not do so by this deadline, their bank locker will be frozen from January 1, 2024.

Rules related to SIM cards: There is going to be a big change in the rules of buying and keeping SIM cards from January 1, 2024. Now in the new year, customers will have to submit KYC while purchasing SIM cards. The process of paper based KYC will start at the time of purchasing the SIM card. At the time of getting a SIM card, you will have to confirm your details through biometrics.

Rules related to demat account: If you have a demat account then you need to be more cautious. SEBI i.e. Regulatory Securities Board of India has fixed 31 December 2023 as the last date for adding nomination in the demat account. In such a situation, the demat account of those account holders who do not add a nominee may be frozen from January 1, 2024.

The rate of LPG cylinder will be released: Like every month, the rate of LPG usually changes on the 1st of every month. It will be known tomorrow whether the common man will get relief on the occasion of New Year or will face the shock of inflation. New rates of LPG cylinders will be released on January 1, 2024.
